Sarah's Christmas Socks

Pattern: Yankee Knitters Pattern #29, Socks for the Family and Charlene Schurch's Sensational Knitted Socks
Yarn: Artyarns Supermerino, colors 127 and 121
Needles: US6
Modifications: Superimposed patterns onto the Yankee Knitter stitch count for a worsted weight sock.
Comments: The sock above (springy pink and green) is knitted from the Yankee Knitter pattern with Charlene Schurch's Welt Fantastic from page 72 of Sensational Knitted Socks. The blue sock uses a simple 3:1 spiral rib pattern wherein you begin with a K3, P1 rib for three rows, then shift your entire pattern one stitch to the left (so round four begins with P1, K3). You continue on in this way, moving your stitch pattern over by one stitch every fourth round, and the rib begins to spiral around the sock. This goes back to my very first socks, which were spiral rib tube socks, no heel, way back at the beginning of the millenium.
