Knit in 2004, this is a total pattern knock-off. Red Heart was giving away this adorable slip stitch cardigan and hat set, but I no longer tolerated cheap acrylic yarn. I instead knit it in Valley Yarns Rainbow (two strands) and one skein of Cascade 220. I remember not the gauge, I only remember that it was one of my first projects knitted for the store, and I was so thrilled that someone wanted it, and more thrilled that I got to use the adorable red baby sheep with dangling feet. I was easily amused then. It is adorable, and I still use this pattern with various yarns. It's a great slip stitch introduction, simple but produces a little drama in an otherwise straightforward baby sweater.
